Besamim Restaurant

Besamim (the name means spices in Hebrew) is a restaurant, located in the modern interior of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews. It is not required to purchase a ticket in order to enter the restaurant.

We specialise in Jewish cuisine, however, in our daily menu you can also find dishes from Polish and international cuisine. Ready to eat Kosher meals with a certificate can be ordered and eaten in the restaurant or taken away.

In the menu, you can find traditional dishes from Jewish cuisine like Jewish pickled herring, Jewish caviar, chicken noodle soup with matzo balls, kreplach (Jewish dumplings), vegetable kugel, Jewish style duck or chicken, Sephardic beef stew, jewish desserts and a wide range of Israeli wines.

Our customers may feel comfortable and safe – the museum’s building is air-conditioned, very well protected and well adapted for disabled people.

Surrounding world-class architecture adds flavour to the restaurant. The museum’s building won the 2014 SARP (Association of Polish Architects) Award of the Year and the Award for the Best Architectural Object Built Using Public Funds under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland.

We suggest that you pay special attention to the only presentation of Jewish kosher wines from Israel in Poland combined with wine tasting. The presentation is given by our staff, which has been specially trained in advising. We will present you the most important facts, such as the history of winemaking in Israel, the emergence of kosher wines, wine regions and Israeli wines of their origin. In addition, we will present wines from the vineyards of Barkan Wine Cellars and Teperberg that we offer.
Participation in the presentation without consumption is free of charge.
In order for the presentation to be given, at least 5 people must register for a presentation combined with wine consumption. After the presentation, you will be able to buy wine in bottles at a special price. We offer two tasting sessions to choose from which include good quality wines of varied prices and varieties.
